Reflecting: The Moon

In the early hours of the morning, before the sun had risen, a low tide in the Phillipines’ Panglao Island had exposed a sea star… ”What a pretty sight” – I thought!

The reflection of the moon in the shallow water, together with the shadows of the palm trees created a magical moment…

Danger! – Polar Bear Sign

Did you know?

The sign warning for Polar bears in Svalbard is the only one attention sign in the world, that has a black background, so that the white bear can stand out!

We were indeed excited at the sight of the sign, however did not see any bears in the month of May, as it was spring here and the bears have moved up north. All we saw were reindeer, arctic dogs, foxes, ducks, and other birds!

Sunny Philippines – Beaches, Marine Life, Easter

The Philippines is a sunny country with more than 7,000 islands. We were looking forward to explore part of its natural beauty on our Easter holiday this year. It did not disappoint – the people are friendly, the islands beautiful, the food tasty and the climate pleasant.

Bears And Volcanoes of Kamchatka, Russia

In the far east of Russia lies the land of bears and volcanoes. That is the Kamchatka peninsula situated between the Pacific Ocean to the east and the Sea of Okhotsk to the west. The volcanoes of Kamchatka are UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Skiing In Spain/ Esquiar En España

Spain is famous for its sunny, fun-filled beach holidays and few might know that winter sports are also practiced here. The ski resort of Baqueira-Beret located in the heart of the Pyrenees, in the Aran Valley and Àneu Valley Lleida provides all the facilities for fun-filled Spanish ski holiday. We spent five days here in February 2016 and truly enjoyed it. One can reach by car from Barcelona or Toulouse, France. The area is rural and extremely charming. Spanish and French are spoken here, as well as some English Smile
